  Just got our house in Blue Ridge (Epworth) and found out the hard way that Home Depot sucks. Thank goodness Big Jim's came out and did the job right, with better materials, and for less money. The wood we were getting from Home Depot had cracks in it and looked worn already, so we sent it back before they could install their Bruce junk. We got Somerset from Jim's and are much happier with it. The materials were more, but the installation was less so the price was about the same. For some dumb reason we went back to Home Depot for carpet because of the "free" installation. Turns out their cost for materials was astronomical compared to Jim's. We ended up with a better carpet, better pad and a local installer that has been around the area for over 20 years doing installations, for about $300 less than Home Depot's quote. (Plus, their installers were coming from Atlanta and wanted to start installation at 7:30 PM for 117 yards of carpet...that is crazy!) We are definitely telling everyone how well Big Jim's took care of us. Will do ALL our flooring business with them.
